in case you were wondering.
That, added to my 9,859 word total from yesterday, finally puts me in 5 digits!

NaNoWriMo update. I was doing great for two days and then didn’t write for 3 days. But I’m back on track today! If I don’t start writing first thing in the morning the day really gets away from me. An excuse, I know, and that’s why today I didn’t use it. I wrote throughout the day and got it done. Still, I am humbled. And having wrote 1,880 words today, I am still more than 4,000 words behind.
Reminds me of a scene:

So TravelHacker has a list of the Top 25 Vacation Destinations Where a Nerd Can Get Laid. I love it. Someone should do a study: I have a theory that people should be entering into more compatible relationships these days just based on the internet alone.
Look, do you know where most people meet their spouses and partners? Work. Know why? Because we’re not hooking up with people we like so much as people we can GET. All of that proximity has led to a million relationships where a guy that has carpal tunnel syndrome from doing the Vulcan salute dates/marries a girl whose proudest moment is that she once hooked up with Ja Rule’s boy.
Not Ja Rule.
His boy.
It ain’t love that brought those two together.
I say, let’s make both of them happier and get as many nerds as we can to as many Gwaroriums, Star Trek Fests, and Fireflyganza’s as possible. There’s gotta be some women there, somewhere.
And let’s get that Ja Rule girl some counseling.

Soooo. Yesterday I failed to write first thing in the morning, and the next thing I knew, I was getting started at 11pm. And, since I had a tiring day, I didn’t finish until 2:30 am.
AND, that means I got up late THIS morning and now am in a position, at nearly 6pm, where I still have to write. The wife will be home from grad school in a few minutes and expect some attention and I will have to tell her that I didn’t get my writing done and could she just give me a couple of hours? Super.
But I did get 1,902 words written last night.
And I’ll get done again today. I hope.

Someone just finished their first day’s NaNoWriMo production… Pretty slow typist, so I’m sure that having a story floating around in my head for 10 years helped.
